In a recent interview, E’Lana Parnell, a student at Walker Valley and member of the Society of Women Engineers, spoke about the club. “There are very few girls interested in engineering; sometimes boys are allowed to join so we will have more people. I would definitely recommend joining if you’re interested and putting your ideas out there, ” Parnell stated.
Doris Manning, the advisor of the club, was also interviewed. She explained how the club consists of 15 members, 1 happens to even be male. “We will accept anybody who has any interest in a stem career. The club has helped many members make contacts for future careers and find opportunities in this field. As a club, we get to do many activities in the community, such as doing STEM projects with local elementary school students.”
